Turn someone esle’s trash into couture treasure.

Just 7 weeks until Dress For Success’ first fundraiser, What Haute to Wear. If you’re a designer who likes a challenge or looking for the opportunity to put your talent on display, we want you!

There are only two more bags of recycled looks waiting to be revamped!
So will 3 be a charm, or will it be lucky number thirteen? There is only one way to find out!

In order to participate, email fundraising@dfscentralvirginia.org with the subject line What Haute to Wear Registration. In the body of the email include your name, number, and a brief bio to be featured in the fashion show. It is only $15 to participate and you’ll have access to accessories, stylists, and hair and make-up artists!

So get your model ready and prepare to rip the runway!

DFS is teaming up with our local Dress Barns for Send One Suit weekend taking place March 7th-10th!

Here is how it works! Bring your new or like new suits and career separates to your nearest Dress Barn. All contributions are tax deductable and you will receive a receipt with your donation!

DFS Celebrates Martin Luther King’s Legacy with Richmond Christian Academy

DFS spent the afternoon with Richmond Christian Academy and other non-profit organizations sharing the importance of volunteerism in the community on Martin Luther King Day.

We are so excited to announce that Dress for Success Central Virginia is now a 501c3 organization!!! Our effective date of exemption is August 7, 2012. For all of those that have donated clothing over the past few months you will receive a tax receipt for your donation by January 15th, 2013.

The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
Founded in New York City in 1997, Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization offering services designed to help our clients find jobs and remain employed. Each Dress for Success client receives one suit when she has a job interview and can return for a second suit or separates when she finds work.
Since 1997, Dress for Success has served more than 550,000 women around the world. Each year we reach more than 50,000 women in the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, the Netherlands, Mexico, Poland and the West Indies. 30 Women, 30 Days Success

Happy November!!! Our 30 Women, 30 Days campaign has come to an end but the results are amazing. During the month of October we were able to raise $2,475 towards our goal of $3,000!!! Thank you for your generous support of our efforts to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
